Polycarbonate (Lexan® & Makrolon®)
Polycarbonate, commonly known as Lexan®, is a tough transparent material typically used in applications that require higher impact resistance than acrylic and tempered glass. Polycarbonate sheet are virtually unbreakable with 250 times the impact strength of glass and 30 times that of acrylic.
Typical applications include architectural, correctional, POP/Display, sign and industrial safety applications.
Capabilities
- Sheet thicknesses: 0.060" to 0.500"
- Sheet sizes: 4' x 8' (stock), 4' x 10', 5' x 8', 5' x 10', 6' x 8' and 6' x 10'
- Grades: Abrasion resistant, UV-stabilized, FDA compliant, flame inhibiting, machine grade and optical grade
- Colors: Clear, gray and bronze
- Rod, tube and film are also available
